Q: Does my child need their own horse to attend camp?
A: No! We provide wonderful, safe educational horses for our youth day camps.
(Note: Our adult/specialized clinics usually require participants to bring their own horses, but youth camps do not).
Q: Can my child attend if they have never ridden a horse before?
A: Absolutely. Our camps are specifically built for beginners and intermediates. We focus on building safety and confidence from the ground up.
Q: How much riding will the campers actually do?
A: While campers will get to ride during the week, our program heavily emphasizes horsemanship. Campers will spend a lot of time learning ground handling, grooming, leading, and horse care. Groundwork is essential for learning horse behavior and staying safe!
Q: Do I need to buy an expensive equestrian riding helmet?
A: No. You do not need to buy one for these short camps. We have helmets available to borrow for free. Just make sure to check the "reserve a helmet" box on your registration form so we have one ready for your child's first day.

A: No. Campers must bring a packed lunch, snacks, and a reusable water bottle every day.
Q: Can I stop by the farm anytime to check it out or visit the horses?
A: To maintain a safe, quiet environment for our animals and students, and other programs, Fairwinds Farm is open to the public by appointment only outside of official camp hours. Please call or email us to book a farm tour ahead of time! No drop-ins allowed.
Q: Why can't I find you on Facebook or Instagram?
A: We choose to operate without social media to keep our focus entirely on the safety, care, and quiet environment of our horses and students. This website is the official and most up-to-date place to find information about us!
